Four great apps for summer
Summer can sometimes be seen as a great time for a change, whether it’s getting in to top physical condition, freshening up your wardrobe or simply having a more positive outlook due to the better weather conditions.
If you’re looking to make the most of the longer days then why not consider some of the sim only deals available from EE, which could be the perfect way to gain access to a whole host of apps that might brighten up your life? Here are a few we think are well worth downloading during the fairest season.
BBC Weather
It’s fair to say that at times weather conditions in the UK can prove to be a little unpredictable, with the Met Office going as far as holding an emergency meeting to discuss this. With that in mind, if you’re planning or day out or simply trying to avoid getting caught in a shower without suitable attire, it might be worth downloading the BBC Weather app. While you can never guarantee the reliability of a weather forecast, it should at least help to give you some indication whether the coming days are likely to bring rain or shine. Up to date information including temperatures and details on pollen counts are provided and all within an easy to use layout.
National Trust
Warmer temperatures provide the perfect excuse for a day in the great outdoors, but with so many options available it can be hard to decide where to head. If you’re looking for a little inspiration for where to take the family then why not give the National Trust app a try? It allows you to browse locations near you – and indeed across England, Wales and Northern Ireland – and provides useful information such as opening times, maps, images, details on its history and listings of coming events.
TripAdvisor
This app version of the popular website is well worth having to hand if you’re heading to somewhere you’re not familiar with. Whether you’re heading for a city break in the UK or going overseas it could be the ideal way to plan your trip. Users provide reviews and tips on everything from local sights to hotels, restaurants and cafes. So why not give it a whirl on your 4g smartphone before making a booking?
Epicurious Recipes & Shopping List
If you’re hoping to fire up the barbecue this summer and want to serve up something a little different from the usual sausages and burgers then Epicurious Recipes could help. It has a whole host of recipes – sorted by category – that might liven up your meals. The good news is that it covers more traditional cooking too, so if your barbecue is rained off you needn’t be short of ideas.
